The gateway features a dual-CPU architecture with STM32F74x and STM32L05x, equipped with the RT-Thread Internet of Things operating system. The main CPU is an ARM 32-bit Cortex-M7 core with a clock speed of up to 216MHz; it also integrates an SX1301 LoRa baseband processing chip, capable of supporting 8 multi-SF channels (SF12 to SF7), 1 single-SF channel, and 1 high-speed GFSK channel. The output power can reach up to 24dBm, and the sensitivity is -142dBm@300bps. Under specific transmission cycle and data length conditions, a single gateway can connect to tens of thousands of nodes. It also achieves automatic switching between same-frequency half-duplex and different-frequency full-duplex, with the different-frequency full-duplex mode further enhancing the gateway's access capacity.

Equipped with RT-Thread Internet of Things Operating System:

The RHF2S002 LoRa gateway integrates many hardware peripherals inside, such as the core LoRa gateway chip, GPS module, 4G module, Ethernet PHY, Wi-Fi module, buttons, LEDs, power management system. At the same time, in order to reduce the gateway power consumption as much as possible, a dual-CPU design approach is adopted in the design. This makes the product software design very difficult. The traditional MCU bare-metal programming method and even the programming method using only a single real-time system kernel can not guarantee to meet the product development cycle and produce high-quality, low-fault products in the early stage. Therefore, the company evaluated several real-time operating system kernels applicable to MCUs, including FreeRTOS (ST official library) and RIO, at the initial design of the product, and finally chose RT-Thread, which has richer component support, development, and documentation and other corresponding supporting resources, at the start of product design. During the product development process, the RT-Thread team also gave the company great support in low-power design and file system design of the product.

 

The gateway product uses the following RT-Thread components:

· RT-Thread operating system kernel

· Ethernet (LWIP)

· MQTT

· 4G module

· Wi-Fi

· Low-power management framework

· Other MCU on-chip peripheral drivers, such as serial ports, SPI, etc.
